Elections to the bodies of local governing of the NKR

Article 3.

1. In the Nagorno Karabakh Republic power lies with the people.
2. The people exercise their power through free elections and referenda as well as through state and local self-governing bodies and public officials as provided by the Constitution.

Article 1: Electoral Bases

1. Elections of the President, National Assembly and local self-governing bodies of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic are held through universal, equal, direct suffrage, by secret ballot.

Article 87: Time frames for conducting the Elections of the President of the Republic

1. The election of the President of the Republic is conducted fifty days prior to the expiration of the term of powers of the President of the Republic.
2. The National Assembly takes a decision on holding the regular election of the President of the Republic not later than 100 days prior to the Election Day.
3. The day of the election of the President of the Republic is declared a day-off.
